White Rocks Beach Portursh
White Rocks is a popular beach on the North Coast of Ireland. This beach is usually uncrowded during the winter, however if its sunny in the summer which isn’t often there might be the odd swimmers out in the water. There is a lifeguard on the beach only during the summer though. You can walk to White Rocks along the sand from East Strand which is roughly 3 miles and only takes about 20-30 minutes to walk.
The beach itself is clean and nice sand, not dirty like others. There are public toilets incase you don’t like using your wetsuit as one. If there is surf there are usually some surfers out, but you can’t really say it gets many out back though.
Whenever White Rocks is small from 3-4 foot it usually breaks very quickly, so if you are going to surf White Rocks go down the right hand side of the beach past the big white rock, which you cant miss. Around that area it is more clean and swell seems to get in there better, getting past the Scarys. Usually there are left and rights, but usually at the right hand side it is more bigger and usually left hand waves. Good for the goofy riders.
